Before she dies, May reveals that she knows he is Spider-Man and is proud of him. Following the capture of Wilson Fisk by Spider-Man, a masked gang known as the Inner Demons begins seizing Fisk’s illicit assets. Mary Jane and Spider-Man learn that the Demons are seeking something called Devil’s Breath. With the aid of Officer Jefferson Davis, Spider-Man thwarts a Demon attack. Jefferson is lauded for his heroism at a re-election event for Mayor Norman Osborn. The Demons attack the event, killing Jefferson and many other attendees.

The game opens with a battle against a super-sized Marko Flint, known as Sandman, as he towers above Midtown. You swap between both Miles and Peter to bring him down as he blasts apart whole city blocks in a blind rage. Releasing exclusively on PlayStation 5, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to two past titles — one a familiar Peter Parker origin story; the other, Miles Morales’ main gaming debut. NK88 brings back multiple characters from the base game like Yuri Watanabe, Silver Sablinova and Screwball, just to name a few.
It’s in the northern half of the graveyard on a grassy patch under some trees, away from the asphalted path. Spider-Bots are a collectible of tiny robotic spiders spread throughout New York City, which unlock after the “Science Buddy” Main Story Mission. They’re unique as the only collectibles in Spider-Man 2 that aren’t marked directly on the map. Instead, you need to locate all 42 of them by looking for the large, colorful spheres that pulse periodically. This guide applies to the original PS5 version of Spider-Man 2 as well as the 2025 PC version.
It’s a real triumph that it manages to cover such a wide spectrum of themes without suffering from tonal thwip-lash. A particularly memorable mission under the dancing lights of Coney Island’s amusement rides is a highlight that manages to impressively capture the story’s essence and bottle up its emotional tension before emphatically smashing it. It’s enough of a roller coaster to hold your interest, and the way the city physically changes and evolves to fit the ongoing narrative is impressive (from ‘post-Sandman attack’ to ‘overrun with big game hunters’ and beyond).
It’s by no means revolutionary stuff, but a welcome added level of complexity that makes you consider which powers – or even which Spider-Man – are best for a given job. Its stellar action gameplay, beautiful score, phenomenal setpieces and amazing narrative have helped it stand out as one of the best games to release in 2023. While it feels a bit poorly paced compared to Marvel’s Spider-Man, the game is still an amazing experience filled with some of the most enjoyable missions in any open-world game ever. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is taking players on another amazing adventure across Manhattan but before you start web-swinging and slinging, you’ll need to learn the controls. The latest adventure keeps much of the same button layout as the previous games, though it does include an extensive moves list with some new additions, so it’s worth taking a refresher of the controls. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available to PC players on January 30, 2025 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
