The gameplay builds on the foundation established by its predecessors, with an emphasis on the multiple play styles offered by Peter Parker and Miles Morales as Spider-Men. The game expands on their existing traversal and combat abilities, including new web-based gadgets and suits that can be unlocked through progressing in the story. It also introduces the former Spider-Man’s symbiote suit, granting Parker unique abilities from his previous playable appearance. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a continuation of our Peter Parker and Miles Morales story featuring iconic foes such as Venom and Kraven, as well as many returning favorites. https://g28.uk/ introduced all-new abilities and traversal options such as Symbiote Surge and Web Wings, and we’ve also expanded Marvel’s New York with new boroughs and side missions to explore.
[Spoiler warning] One particular side quest that illustrates this best is a small one. Tasked with finding a missing grandfather, players must track the man across Brooklyn at the behest of his granddaughter and caretaker. It culminates not in an action set piece, but a quiet moment where Miles sits with an elder battling dementia, ruminating in Prospect Park at the place he proposed to his late wife.
It might not be the newest or prettiest game on this list, but the vibe and experience hasn’t been replicated by anything before or since, even its own sequels. I tried to create a balanced experience overall and made sure I was tackling just as many side quests and hunting collectibles as I was unravelling the tangled tale. That really helped in unlocking some of the more power abilities and unique suits to use throughout the story missions but also contributed to my time with the game feeling like a complete experience.
Investigating Kraven, Peter discovers he is hunting super-powered individuals in search of an “equal”. Having already killed Scorpion, Vulture, Shocker, and Electro, Kraven attempts to capture Black Cat. However, Miles helps her escape to Paris by using the mystical Wand of Watoomb. The responsive vibrations of the DualSense controller bring Peter Parker’s symbiote abilities and Miles Morales’ bio-electric skills to your fingertips.
Miles Morales has a lot going on, what with moving to a new neighborhood, dealing with the loss of his father, and the whole gaining super-powers thing. After a misunderstanding with the law, Miles questions what it means to be a hero when people are ready to believe the worst in you. Tempted by the power and freedom of his new abilities, Miles must decide what kind of Spider-Man he wants to be. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in Marvel’s New York. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders. Gone is the gadget wheel that you have to pause the action to access.

They’re unique as they’re the only collectibles in Spider-Man 2 that aren’t marked directly on the map (unless you unlock a specific perk). Instead, you need to locate them by the large colorful spheres they pulse periodically. Accompanying a new trailer, below, Spider-Man 2 on PC drops the hard PSN requirement for PC players and adds advanced raytracing features such as DLSS 3.5 Ray Reconstruction. Though not as prominently featured as some of her other villainous counterparts, Black Cat remains one of the most important characters in the game.
Spider-man 2: Peter Parker Suits
Overall, there’s slightly less emphasis on stealth encounters this time than in either Spider-Man or Miles Morales. As someone who found the stealth action of the previous games a little simplistic and routine, this new, louder approach is welcome. Coming from two strong parents who have each dedicated their lives towards defending the vulnerable in their own ways, Miles keeps civic duty as something of a family tradition. With so much having occurred to the character across the previous games, here’s a quick overview of Miles’ background and role ahead of his return in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Be sure to check out Miles Morales’ comic book history as well to see how the two versions of the character are both different and similar. After finishing the story, however, players could swap back to wearing the Black suit, but these powers were locked to the white look of the Anti-Venom suit.
Harry reveals that, on his father Norman Osborn’s insistence, he was cured by Curt Connors via a powerful organic exosuit that physically augments his body. With the exosuit’s powers rapidly developing, Harry helps Peter rescue Tombstone while Mary Jane discovers that Kraven has kidnapped Connors. The trio attempt to save Connors, but Kraven forcibly turns him back into the Lizard, steals the serum needed to transform him back and mortally wounds Peter. Before Peter can die, the exosuit transfers itself from Harry to Peter’s body, saving him. After Peter viciously defeats the Hunters with his newly enhanced powers, Kraven develops an interest in hunting Peter personally.
In layman’s terms, that means sexy clouds and lighting effects reflecting off surfaces in real time. Imagine clinging to a skyscraper’s glass façade and seeing your reflection, and the entire city’s, projected back. That fidelity takes a minor hit in Performance mode, which dials back the glam for a steadier framerate, which would normally be the preferred method for a game that requires a certain level of speed. If you’ve got that, you probably know, and it makes for one of the most technologically astonishing experiences in modern gaming. It’s enough of a roller coaster to hold your interest, and the way the city physically changes and evolves to fit the ongoing narrative is impressive (from ‘post-Sandman attack’ to ‘overrun with big game hunters’ and beyond).
While investigating a breakout at the Raft, Spider-Man learns that some of his greatest enemies—Martin, Electro, Vulture, Rhino, and Scorpion—have escaped. Norman declares martial law and blames Spider-Man for the incident, branding him a fugitive. Mysterio’s working at the park as well, running an augmented reality project.
Unfortunately there aren’t any convenient landmarks in the vicinity to help guide you there, so we’ll start at something nearby. First, open up your map and locate the Western end of the Manhattan Bridge that goes East across the river to Williamsburg. The Blood-Spider Spider-Bot can be found in the North-West corner of mainland Astoria. Collecting them all will unlock a cool and unique quest you don’t want to miss, which you can read about at the bottom of this page. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC is unfortunately the inferior version of what is otherwise an amazing game.
On the Eastern side of it is a (relatively) small building that’s on an angle compared to the buildings around it. Near where the train tracks stop (on the map screen, at least), look for a building under construction with a yellow crane over it. Head to the Eastern side of the building and get to the top of the yellow-netted scaffolding to find the Spider-Bot. This Spider-Bot, JJJ, can be found close to the Northern border of Greenwich. On the map screen, locate the building that looks like a chevron arrow pointing South-West (called Glam).
She vents her frustrations with herself and Peter in a way that shows she isn’t this perfect paragon she’s presented as the rest of the time. Lean into that and show that she’s just as flawed as the main two heroes, and more people might actually start to like her. This game falls into the most common pitfall of big open world games.
